About the Event

This facilitation call is being hosted by the BIPOC Coach Collective's Treasurer, Kibi Anderson. We have become lost in our tiredness and the narrative that "I don’t have time to rest, because I have to be there for the kids, my team, my friends, my community, my art. Once I finish, then I’ll rest.” Society makes us feel we have to overproduce, overdeliver, and over sacrifice in order to be worthy and successful. This is especially true for entrepreneurs - women and men - who face the prospect that if I don't work, I don't eat. The problem is this mindset is making us lose our minds and slowly kill ourselves.  This talk will provide insight, guidance and a lively discussion to help attendees re-think their entire understanding and orientation towards the concept of rest more broadly, and provide practical and inspirational solutions to support bold decisions to incorporate a practice of consistent rest bringing less stress to your life, without sacrificing success. Attendees will leave with the following key takeaways:

  1. A better understanding about what real rest truly is
  2. Clarity on how to rest without feeling guilty or sacrificing success
  3. How to make rest a consistent practice in their lives
